Description

With the adoption of computer-generated shapes in tooling the use of the computer programs to generate master models, then prototype tools, then production tools, has led to the development of many machinable materials to be utilized in these programs. Close tolerances in fixtures and molds has led to development of better tooling materials such as graphite tubing, flat stock, etc., and the adoption of better and more predictable cast materials for prototype and short run tools.
