Gregory E. Peterson, Lotus Engineering

Gregg Peterson is a Senior Technical Specialist for Lotus Engineering. His responsibilities include investigating private and public sector innovations, implementing new technologies into Lotus projects and program management. He has assisted Lotus Engineering in designing lightweight, cost effective solutions for the transportation industry, including body structures, closures and interiors. He is also involved in investigating emerging technologies, including materials, forming processes and joining methodologies and creating opportunities to integrate them into mainstream production vehicles. This has included applying NASA technology to automobiles to potentially increase vehicle fuel economy by creating a “smart” cruise control system. He will review the fundamental challenges facing the automotive industry today, discuss enabling technologies used by automotive engineers to meet these challenges and provide holistic approaches detailing opportunities for implementing numerous NASA developed technologies into mainstream automotive products.
