CNA Announces Tooling U-SME as New Allied Vendor

CHICAGO — CNA today announced the selection of Tooling U-SME — a leader in manufacturing workforce education and development — as the newest member of its Allied Vendor Program.

As part of this partnership, CNA policyholders will have access to more than 500 of Tooling U-SME’s individual manufacturing classes, in both English and Spanish, mapped to specific competencies for every area, role and function. All learning resources are developed around professional standards and industry-endorsed certifications. Backed by over 85 years of hands-on manufacturing experience, Tooling U-SME is dedicated to helping build the current and next generation workforce.

“The manufacturing industry is at a juncture where a critical shortage of skilled workers threatens the future of the workforce,” said Brian Roberts, Consulting Director, Commercial Risk Control, CNA. “CNA is pleased to offer our policyholders with a solution that will help build high-performing employees who will help drive quality, productivity, innovation and higher employee satisfaction.”

In 2007, CNA developed its Allied Vendor Program to provide customers with access to additional risk control programming that creates safer, more secure work environments. This program remains a key resource for providing tools to assist policyholders in mitigating risk and delivering on CNA's commitment to show its customers more than just an insurance policy.

“Our primary focus at Tooling U-SME is to prepare manufacturing employees to successfully compete in the industrial renaissance,” said Jeannine Kunz, Vice President, Tooling U-SME. “By partnering with CNA, we have a unique opportunity to reach even more of the manufacturing workforce so we can develop today’s and tomorrow’s skilled talent that will function effectively in a safe work place.”
