A significant project accomplishment that may qualify for professional credits goes above and beyond your normal job. These projects typically include course curriculum development or presentations to management and may cover new product development, productivity improvements, cost savings, expansion, lead facility changes, etc. The number of professional credits given is determined by SME, for a maximum of 18 of the 36 required credits. You should submit a report that details:
- The nature of the project.
- The project's time span.
- The number of engineers involved.
- To whom the final presentation was made.
- Cost of the project.
- Results, such as new or improved products, significant cost savings, expansion, etc.
- Signatures of at least two other persons of higher management rank for validation.
Be sure to submit your report well in advance of the recertification deadline to learn how many credits you will receive. |

Non-technical educational activities required by your employer or job may qualify for professional credits. Please send a description of the activity to SME Headquarters. |
