Engineering, Manufacturing Among Hot Jobs in 2015

Engineering and manufacturing positions are on staffing company Randstad US’s “Hot Jobs” list for 2015.Electrical, mechanical and quality engineers are in demand, Randstad said in a statement. On the manufacturing side, forklift operators, quality control technicians and production supervisors are being sought by employers. Full Article

PwC: US Business Outlook Improves Among US Manufacturers

Economic sentiment among US manufacturers improved during 2014’s fourth quarter, according to a report issued today by PricewaterhouseCoopers. PwC’s Manufacturing Barometer indicated that multiple indicators reflected improvement during 2014’s final three months, the consulting firm said in a statement. Full Article

Detroit Manufacturing Institute Opens, Gets New Name

A Detroit group, which aims to speed the development of light-weight materials, had a public coming out and got a new name today.The new moniker, Lightweight Innovations for Tomorrow, or LIFT, was unveiled as the institute officially opened with a ceremony. LIFT replaces the name Lightweight and Modern Metals Manufacturing Innovation Institute. Full Article
